The Mangaluru city police have arrested Sasikumar (38), a resident of Vellore in Tamil Nadu, on the charge of calling the terminal manager of Mangaluru International Airport and threatening to blow up the airport.
On the night of August 29, 2025, the terminal manager received the call threatening of blowing up the terminal building of the airport if it was not vacated immediately. “On inquiry, the police came to know that Sasikumar had collected numbers of all airport in the country by searching social media. He kept on calling every airport and threatened of exploding them and in that process he called Mangaluru Airport too,” the police said.
He was produced before the jurisdictional magistrate, who remanded Sasikumar to 14 days of judicial custody. “Sasikumar was B.Pharma graduate and was unmarried,” the police said.
