Netanyahu’s Dire Warning at the UN
On Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a grave warning at the United Nations General Assembly. Holding a map, he highlighted what he termed the “curse of Iran’s terror axis.”
“This axis endangers global peace, regional stability, and Israel’s very survival,” he declared, asserting that Israel has significantly weakened groups like the Houthis, Hamas, and Hezbollah.

Walkout During Netanyahu’s Address
As Netanyahu took the podium, numerous UN delegates left the New York headquarters, leaving the assembly hall noticeably sparse.
This speech coincides with Israel’s ongoing operations in Gaza City, following recent strikes on Hamas’s Doha headquarters, actions criticized by allies like U.S. President Donald Trump for complicating ceasefire efforts.
Netanyahu emphasized the importance of remembering the attacks on October 7, 2023, pointing to a QR code on his jacket that encapsulates the reasons for Israel’s fight.

Remembering the Hostages
Discussing the October 7 attack, Netanyahu noted that among the hostages were Holocaust survivors and families. Israel has managed to rescue 207 hostages, but 48 remain in Gaza, with 20 confirmed alive. He read their names aloud, assuring them that Israel is committed to their return.
The attack resulted in 1,200 deaths, and since then, over 65,502 people have died in Gaza, according to local health authorities.

Call for Action Against Hamas
Netanyahu urged Hamas leaders to disarm and release the hostages, warning that Israel would pursue them otherwise. He presented a “pop quiz” placard asking, “Who shouts death to America?” with options including Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthis, ultimately circling “all of the above.”
He praised former President Donald Trump for recognizing the shared threats faced by Israel and America, noting that initial support from global leaders has waned since the October 7 attack.
